1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions apply to every offer made by the language school operated under the name Sprachschule & Übersetzungsdienst Weiss.
2. General
- A lesson has a duration of 60 minutes.
- The cost of teaching materials is not included in the course fee.
- Instruction is delivered in the target language.
- Audio or video recordings (e.g. via mobile phone, tablet, camera or laptop) are not permitted unless expressly agreed with the instructor.
- Price, terms and conditions changes remain reserved by management and may be made at any time.
- Any special agreements will be set out in a written contract.
- Complaints may be submitted to the management of Sprachschule & Übersetzungsdienst Weiss.
3. Registration
- Registration may be made in writing or orally.
- After registration, a binding confirmation will be sent specifying the service to be provided, number of participants, course start date, duration, location, price and invoice.
4. Courses
- If the required minimum number of participants for a course is not reached, management reserves the right to decide whether to run the course.
- If the minimum number is not met, then, after consulting the registered participants, a smaller group may be formed, but at an increased course fee.
- If a course is cancelled, no course fees or charges will be due.
- If more registrations are received than the maximum for a course, a discount on the course fee will be granted.
5. Payment
Payment terms
- The invoice must be paid before the course begins.
Instalments for companies
- Payment by instalments is possible only for companies in up to 2 instalments.
- The first instalment is due before the course starts; the second instalment is due no later than the date of the final lesson.
- A handling fee of CHF 10.– applies per instalment.
Reminder
- If an invoice is not paid on time, a reminder will be sent.
- A reminder fee of CHF 10.– applies per reminder.
- Management reserves the right to exclude the participant from classes in case of non-payment.
6. Cancellations / Absences
Cancellations
- Registration commits you to pay for the course, subscription or agreed lessons.
- Refunds depend on the time of cancellation.
Cancellation deadlines (10-lesson pass / 20-lesson pass / course):
- Up to 35 days before start: refund minus CHF 100.– handling fee
- 35–21 days before start: 50 % of course fee
- 23–14 days before start: 20 % of course fee
- From 13 days before start: no refund
Cancellation deadlines (single lessons):
- Up to 7 days before lesson: refund of 1/3 of lesson price (handling fee applies)
- 7–4 days before lesson: 50 % of lesson price
- 3–2 days before lesson: 20 % of lesson price
- 1 day before lesson: no refund
Absences
- In group courses, missed lessons cannot be made up or refunded.
- In single lessons, a missed lesson may be rescheduled if cancelled at least 24 hours in advance; otherwise the full lesson fee applies.
7. Course Confirmation
A course confirmation may be issued if you have attended at least 80 % of the lessons.
8. Exclusion from Course
Management may exclude any participant who disrupts the class, prevents others from achieving successful completion, or fails to comply with these terms and conditions or with the building rules. In such cases all claims against Sprachschule & Übersetzungsdienst Weiss are void.
9. Teaching Materials
- Teaching materials are defined and ordered by management.
- They are distributed by the instructor and must be paid for during the current or next lesson.
10. Insurance
Sprachschule & Übersetzungsdienst Weiss accepts no liability for damage to property, theft or loss. Each participant is responsible for their own insurance.
11. Pets
Pets are not permitted in class. If a pet is brought to class, the lesson is then cancelled and charged in full.
12. Data Protection
Sprachschule & Übersetzungsdienst Weiss does not pass on any documents to third parties.
13. Rights to Materials
All materials produced and distributed by Sprachschule & Übersetzungsdienst Weiss are its intellectual property. Any use outside Sprachschule & Übersetzungsdienst Weiss (e.g. reproduction, commercial use by other schools or translation services, electronic processing) is prohibited and punishable unless a written agreement with Sprachschule & Übersetzungsdienst Weiss exists.
14. Amendments
Management reserves the right to amend prices, terms and conditions, etc., at any time. The published conditions apply.
15. Jurisdiction and Applicable Law
Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Aarau.
